2014.09.18【Movie for Project Morpheus】
Satelight Inc. produces the omnidirectional movie for Sony’s Morpheus at TOKYO GAME SHOW 2014. Satelight challenges a brand new visual expression under the supervision of the anime director, and the original creator of Macross and Aquarion series; Shoji Kawamori. During the period of September 18 to 21st, you will be able to experience the demo movie at Project Morpheus booth, Tokyo Game Show 2014. Project Morpheus is a virtual reality system that Sony Computer Entertainment has been in development for Play Station 4 console. This 360-degree movie is titled as AKB0048 x AQUARION Multi Dimension Special Live. The movie is a fusion of the live performance scene from our original animation series; AKB0048 and the Mecha Battle scenes from AQUARION, and this will be the one-time-play special movie. By wearing the Project Morpheus head-mounted display unit on the head, you will be able to experience as if you exist in the multi-dimensional world. You can fly in the air or get attacked by a giant enemy as if you are a member of the girl’s group, AKB0048.
“I can sense the dramatic transition happens in the entertainment world again. I have so many new ideas flowing in by this experiment with such a dense space visual expression which I craved for a long time. I wish many of you can experience this 360-degree world which I cannot explain in words unless you are actually in it.”
Shoji Kawamori, Animation Director, Mecha Designer
“This movie is created with the cooperation of the videogame developer, Historia, as well as the great synergetic effect from the experiences and know-hows of the videogame developing and animation production brought up together. I strongly feel that we could still make new things a reality by the technology collaboration.”
Tomisaburo Hashimoto, Department head of Computer Graphics, CG Producer
